PUNCHLINE #1 PUTS DC’S BREAKOUT CHARACTER IN THE SPOTLIGHT
Punchline, The Joker’s new partner-in-crime, quickly attracted the interest of comics fans upon debuting in the pages of Batman earlier this year–and the character’s momentum continues in November with the Punchline #1 one-shot, written by James Tynion IV and Sam Johns, and illustrated by Mirka Andolfo!
The oversized issue both explores Punchline’s origins, while also delving into the character’s post-“The Joker War” status quo! As she faces the consequences for her role in “The Joker War,” the story of how Alexis Kaye became Punchline will take Leslie Thompkins, Harper Row, and Cullen Row on a harrowing journey that reveals a fringe teenager’s radicalization to the ideology of a madman.
“Back when I first introduced Punchline, I said many times that this wasn’t going to be a flash in the pan character. That I had big plans for her moving forward, that would drive big story next year and beyond,” said Batman writer Tynion IV. “‘Joker War’ is over, but Punchline’s plans have only just begun. I’m thrilled to be telling this frightening story that expands her past, and sets up her future, with the amazing Sam Johns, and the incredible Mirka Andolfo. This is only the beginning!”
Punchline #1 has an on-sale date of November 10.
